Once again we were delighted to have a strong team of horses and riders representing M2 Dressage. Congratulations to our students Jeannette, Frances, Amy, Izzy and Kaylea for their great results. It was a very special weekend for Kaylea as she made her FEI debut aboard our talented schoolmaster Westeross. Esther had a busy weekend with three horses competing in the FEI levels. Sales horse Linosso achieved solid scores, while Adajio enjoyed a successful return to the site of his 2015 Pan Am Games performance. Esther's new partner Hernando confirmed his rising star status with scores over 70%. We are so excited to watch this partnership continue to develop over the winter season in Florida. Thanks to the wonderful volunteers at Caledon Dressage for organizing such a welcoming and well-run show series, and of course to our incredible team of staff, clients, and family members for making 2021 the best show season possible. Here's to 2022! It was another wonderful weekend for Esther and her future star Hernando, as the pair continues to build their partnership at home and in the show ring. The pair tackled the Inter A test at last weekend's Caledon Dressage show, with solid scores of 69% plus. Thanks to Sue Schramayr for her incredible support and help in making thi future dream team a reality.
It's been a long wait but it was worth it for the M2 team to dance down centre line in the first Caledon Dressage show of the 2021 season. Despite the long Covid break from competition our horses and riders had a wonderful time and fantastic results.
Esther debuted her new partner Hernando, with scores above 74% in the Inter A. We are so excited to see what the future holds for this pair! Other highlights include the first show for Kaylea with her new horse Veritas, Megan and Viva's Ravenno debuting their I-1 freestyle, 14-year-old Isabella stepping into the ring at PSG with her brand new partner Bacara de Broa, and super performances from Frances on her own I Am Legend, and Catherine aboard Pat Douglas' wonderful Westeross. Show season is almost here, so we were delighted to welcome judge Kate Farrell to M2 Dressage on Saturday, July 3 for our last test practice clinic before our first competition. We enjoyed a full day of tests from Training Level to Grand Prix from our superstar horses and riders. Visit our Facebook page to see video highlights. Everyone is looking confident and ready to rock the show ring at Angelstone!
Our next text practice day is scheduled for Saturday, August 7. Ship ins welcome! Please contact Esther for details. We love our monthly test practice days at M2 Dressage! They give everyone the opportunity to polish up their boots and practice their dressage test riding in front of a judge - a valuable training tool for all riders, not just those who plan to compete.
With show season just around the corner, we switched up our usual format this month. Instead of bringing in a guest judge, we invited everyone to bring their clipboards and hone their judging skills, as well as their riding skills. After each ride, Esther offered tips and suggestions for improvement, then asked the observers to share their thoughts on highlights, areas for improvement, and scores for individual movements. Developing your eye clinics such as this one not only give riders the skill to review their own riding videos and make improvements more effectively, it also offers them insight into what the judge sees from C and helps them ride tests more thoughtfully and accurately. Thanks to all the horse and rider combos who gave such great performances and allowed participants to provide their feedback. A fun day of learning for everyone! Join us for our next Ride A Test Day on Saturday, July 3. ![]() We are excited and delighted to welcome Hernando to the M2 Dressage family. This 9-year old KWPN gelding (Bretton Woods X Welt Hit II) will be Esther's new dance partner in the international ring. Special thanks to Sue Schramayr for partnering with us to develop this talented rising star. We see great things in his future and for the sport of dressage in Guatemala! Dreaming of sunshine and palm trees? So are we! And we're booking now for the winter 2022 season at our beautiful base near Wellington, Florida.
A limited number of full training and dry stalls are available at our private barn located within a gated community at the lovely White Fences equestrian facility. Take advantage of the convenient location, large grassy paddocks, multiple rings with excellent footing, miles of hacking, and a popular monthly show series held right on site. Plus we are just a short drive away from the Adequan Global Dressage Festival grounds, host of weekly national and CDI competitions. Escape winter with M2 Dressage! For seasonal pricing and additional information, please contact Esther.
"Riding was always been such an important part of my life when I was growing up," says new M2 Dressage client Ember. "It was my 'happy place' and truth be told, that hasn’t changed 30+ years later.
Here is the thing... There are different stages in life that sometimes force a break (work, babies, health, finances etc.). It’s sad when you have to put your passion on 'pause', but so incredibly exciting when you finally get to experience it again. After a recent break, I had the pleasure of getting back in the saddle with some incredible schoolmasters at M2 Dressage with Esther Mortimer, Harper Mackenzie, and Ralph Mortimer. In the beginning, I really dreaded sitting trot so we really worked on how to relax and connect. Now I am riding Fourth Level on Wills (Windermere). Wills has helped me learn so much in the last few months. I have so much more to discover but I’m so proud of how far I’ve come and am so thankful for this opportunity. " We're proud of you too Ember! Your hard work and positive attitude are as much responsible for your success as your riding skills. You've achieved so much in just a few months of dressage training and we can't wait to see how far you'll go. |
